Vimeo On Demand closes 20 November 2026

Moving your library should take minutes, not weekends.

Paste your video links. We fetch every file, convert it for fast playback on any device, generate subtitles, and put it behind whatever protection you choose. You don't download anything, and you don't wait around — close the tab and we'll email you when it's done.

Free, however big your library. We've moved libraries of 400 GB+.

Two things worth being straight about

Vimeo itself isn't shutting down. It's Vimeo On Demand — the storefront you sell through — that closes on 20 November. Your videos stay in your Vimeo account. What you lose is the shop.

We host and protect your videos — we don't take payments from your viewers. Most people moving here already sell through their own site, a Stripe link, Teachable, Kajabi or an LMS, and just need somewhere solid to put the video. If you need a full storefront with checkout, we're not that yet, and we'd rather tell you now than after you've moved.

    Vimeo's dates

22 August 2026 — Uploads stopped (already passed)

No new titles can be added. Existing On Demand pages stay live.

21 September 2026 — Sales stopped (already passed)

No new purchases, rentals or subscriptions. Buyers keep what they already have until 20 November.

24 September 2026 — Final payouts due (already passed)

Vimeo pays all eligible revenue automatically, including balances under the usual threshold. If yours has not arrived, contact Vimeo Support.

    20 November 2026 — Full shutdown

Every On Demand page and storefront goes offline and buyers lose access. A rental ends sooner if its own window runs out first.

The one that catches people out: your Vimeo download links expire, so get your files out in one go rather than a few at a time between now and 20 November.

    How it works

    1. Paste your links

Export your videos from Vimeo, then paste the list into StreamVault. A plain list works. So does a spreadsheet with titles — paste the whole thing and we'll sort out which column is which.

    2. Close the tab

We fetch each file ourselves, so nothing downloads to your computer and nothing depends on your connection staying up. Subtitles are generated automatically as each one finishes.

    3. Choose who can watch

Only on your own site, password, members-only, country rules, or studio-grade DRM. One panel, plain language, no settings to decode.

    What comes across

    Your video filesYes
    Titles and descriptionsYes
Folder structureYes — becomes your projects
SubtitlesYes — regenerated free, in the spoken language
ThumbnailsYes — generated automatically, or send us yours
Vimeo view counts and commentsNo — these stay with Vimeo

Export the original file from Vimeo where you can — we make our own quality versions, so starting from your master gives the best result. Only your original counts toward your storage; the versions we create don't.

    Or we'll just do it

Email video@streamvault.one with roughly how big your library is. We'll run the whole thing — titles, folders, thumbnails — and tell you when it's live. Free, and there's no catch: migrations are how we win customers from people who'd otherwise never get round to moving.

    Questions people are asking

Not sure what to do first? Read the step-by-step shutdown checklist — it applies whichever host you choose.

    Is Vimeo shutting down?

No. Vimeo itself continues. It is Vimeo On Demand — the storefront for selling videos — that closes on 20 November 2026. Your videos stay in your Vimeo account; what disappears is the shop and your buyers' access to it.

What happens to videos I sold through Vimeo On Demand?

Sales stopped on 21 September 2026 and Vimeo says final payouts were due by 24 September. Storefronts go offline on 20 November, and viewers who bought through Vimeo On Demand lose access then. If you want them to keep watching, the library needs a new home before that date.

How do I move my Vimeo videos to StreamVault?

Paste your Vimeo links. We fetch every file, convert it for fast playback on any device, generate subtitles, and put it behind the protection you choose — DRM, signed URLs, domain whitelisting. You don't download anything, and we email you when it's done. The migration is free, however large the library.

Can I keep selling my videos after moving?

StreamVault hosts and protects your videos; it does not take payments from your viewers. Most people moving here already sell through their own site, a Stripe link, Teachable, Kajabi or an LMS, and embed the protected player there. If you need a full storefront with checkout, we are not that yet.

Will my Vimeo download links stop working?

Yes — Vimeo's download links expire. Get your files out in one go rather than a few at a time over the coming weeks, or paste the links here and let us fetch them for you before they lapse.
